Stay Hydrated!

  • Staying properly hydrated is super important!!

 

  • Water has many benefits including:
  1. Regulating body temperature
  2. Helping transport nutrients to boost energy levels
  3. Lubricating joints
  4. Improving physical performance
  5. Boosting mood and brain power
  6. Helping with weight loss
  7. Preventing headaches
  8. Helping with allergy issues
  9. Promoting healthy skin
  10. Protecting against disease
  • When you body doesn’t have enough water, it cannot work properly!

 

  • Avoid sports drinks and caffeinated beverages that are high in sugars, sodium and caffeine as these can all dehydrate your body.

 

  • If you are one that doesn’t enjoy drinking plain water, I suggest adding essential oils for flavor as well as many added health benefits that are amazing! Some yummy ones include Lemon, Orange, Lime, Tangerine, Grapefruit, Citrus Fresh, Peppermint and Jade Lemon. (*I am only suggesting Young Living’s Vitality essential oils here as they are labeled specifically for internal consumption.*)

 

  • Symptoms of dehydration can range from mild to severe
  1. Dizziness or lightheaded feeling
  2. Nausea/vomiting
  3. Muscle cramps
  4. Dry mouth
  5. Lack of sweating
  6. Hard, fast heartbeat
  7. Dark yellow or amber-colored urine
  8. Mental confusion
  9. Weakness
  10. Loss of consciousness
  • 3 Stages of Heat Illness
  1. Heat cramps: Painful muscle spasms
  2. Heat exhaustion: Faint or weak feelings, nausea, headache, fast heartbeat, low blood pressure
  3. Heatstroke: High body temperature, fast heartbeat, flushed skin, fast breathing, and possibly even delirium, loss of consciousness, or seizures

*Seek immediate medical attention if you have any symptoms of dehydration, heat exhaustion, or heatstroke!*
